About Us

For 45 years, we have championed a simple but important belief – that individuals deserve the best possible personal care and compassion at the end of their lives and should be able to spend their final days in comfort.

Whether at home or in one of our hospices, we strive to ensure a person’s environment is as comfortable as possible for them and their families; enabling them to make the most of their precious moments together.

Providing unique care across Somerset

We know that flexible visiting times on our In-Patient Unit (IPU) and visits from well-behaved pets bring so much joy to our patients. When Pauline’s husband, John, was admitted to St Margaret’s IPU after being diagnosed with terminal cancer, their beloved Newfoundland dog, Lola, became a regular visitor.

When Pauline first brought Lola to visit, she jumped straight up onto the bed to greet John. Pauline told us “I thought it wouldn’t be allowed, but the nurses knew how important this relationship was for him and how much it lifted his spirits.” Lola became quite the celebrity in the IPU, greeting other patients and their families every day, putting smiles on lots of faces around the hospice.

The unique care we provide for people like Pauline and John is only possible thanks to supporters like you. We have supported generations of people across Somerset, and we are committed to doing whatever it takes to ensure we will be there for anyone who needs us in the future.

By playing the St Margaret’s Winter Prize Draw you’ll help ensure we can be there for patients and their families across Somerset.
